With his short movies, Joan Vives Lozano won over 50 awards and participated in more than 200 national and international festivals. Among them are Clermont Ferrand, Seattle IFF, FICG, Vancouver IFF, Regard IFF, INTERFILM Berlin, Hollyshorts or Les Arcs IFF, all of which qualified him for the Oscar shortlist. His shorts have also been bought by television platforms such as Canal + France, Movistar + Spain or SyFy.

He has also worked as second unit director of the film Guerra de Likes, (Sony Pictures International / Ítaca Films / Prime Video) and Nosotros no Nos Mataremos con pistolas (Turanga Films/Un Capricho de Producciones).

He was the director of the second season of the series Açò es un Destarifo, a leading program on the À Punt television network. Together with Ricardo Avilés, he co-wrote the adaptation of Tequila repasado, an original screenplay by Judd Pilot, for Sony Pictures International and Ítaca Films.

Furthermore, he also works as a filmaking teacher for one of Spain's most distinguished film school, ESCAC (Escola de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya).
